Cody and Chase playing in the tree! 2006

This is what Christmas is all about. WONDER!!
I love to watch my younger boys redo the tree 10 or 20 times a day. As Cody touches the ornaments on the tree he wants to hear the story behind each of them. I even have one that my husband made as a boy scout for his mom that she gave me a few years ago. Each of them have a story and I hold very close to my heart. But the ones that I love the most are the ones that they have made. Paper plate Santas, ect. I still hang the ones my 25 year sons has made. I pack each one like fine china in the Christmas boxes for the next year.
I have never had a " Prefect Tree", just one full of love and memories.

Cody and Chase waiting to tell Santa
what they want him to bring them.

They both made the "nice" list this year!

The boys on Santas lap, Chase
was not to sure about this man in red. But Cody did just fine.

I took some time out of shopping and we went to our church Christmas party tonight. It was so much fun and I love the people in our ward. We had the best roast beef, mashed potatoes, corn, salad, rolls and tons of different cakes, pies and cookies. The best part was I DID NOT HAVE TO COOK! Selfish, I know but it was so nice to sit and visit with friends and not have to run off into the kitchen and cook. We did help clean up which was even fun too. Chase loved chasing the brooms around.
We where entertained with singing and stories about the birth of our Lord. It was so touching to see Chase run up to the picture of Jesus and give him a kiss. Yep, I cried like a baby and when I picked him up I said to him " it must be so wonderful to always feel the Lord around you". I think at that moment it dawned on me that my life with Chase is going to filled with the spirit of the Lord forever.
Not all of our kids went with us as they where working or on a date or just decided it is not all that cool to hang out with the parents. So we took Courtney 12, Cody 7 and Chase 2. It was I have to say kinda nice in some ways that we for the first time in years did not have to push 2 tables together so our whole family could set together.
Here are some pictures from the party tonight. They are not to good so I think I will have to take the little kids to the mall and have pix done again.
